1 Kings 15-16: We Six Kings

This service features a testimony from Virginia Tech Professor, Dr. George Davis. The message is from 1 Kings 15-16 and looks at the six kings that ruled Israel (northern kingdom) during Asa's rule of Judah (southern kingdom). Each king continued the idolatry of Jeroboam and led the nation further away from the worship of God.

We do the same, Jeff points out. Israel's political instability in these chapters is a lesson for us. Jeff shared an observation from Dale Ralph Davis:

"We are slow to get to the point that our help is in the name of the Lord, not in the next election."

We should set aside the sin that bogs us down, look to Jesus and run the race.
