With guest speaker Charles Wilson from the Hill Church, we continue our series in James by looking at James 5:7-11. In these verses, James urges us to be patient and endure, and he offers us three images of endurance.

The first is that of a farmer, actively waiting and watching for the Lord’s work at the right time. The second is that of the prophets, proclaiming the Lord’s word at a great cost. The third is that of Job, sitting in suffering but knowing his Redeemer lives. Our Redeemer likewise lives, and because of this our lives our redeemed strengthen our hearts and bear with one another in love, knowing that the Lord is compassionate and merciful.
