Beginning in September, the Christian Scholars Network (CSN) is again offering the two-year certificate program in Biblical and theological studies for International Christians (CITE Program). The first offering in the four-course sequence is “The Progress of Redemption,” taught by Jay Lester (International Christian Fellowship), Thursdays, 7:00 to 8:30pm, from Sept. 3 through Nov. 19 (venue TBA).
Week 1: Introduction, The Good Creation (Genesis 1-2)
2: Fall of Man, Sin and Judgment (Genesis 3-11)
3: Covenant w/ Abraham and his Descendants (Genesis 12-50)
4: Passover and Exodus (Exodus 1-18)
5: Covenant with Moses and Israel, The Law (Exodus 19-40, Leviticus)
6: Wilderness and Promised Land (Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua)
7: Rise of Monarchy, Covenant with David (Judges, 1-2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 1 Chronicles)
8: Fall of Israel, The Prophets (2 Kings, 2 Chronicles, Prophets – esp. Isaiah)
9: The New Covenant, Partial Restoration (Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Ezra, Nehemiah)
10: The Promised One (New Testament)
11: The New People of God (New Testament)
12: Kingdom of God, Redemption Consummated (New Testament)
For his instructional materials, Jay will use Vaughan Roberts, God’s Big Picture as well as extensive handouts for each lesson.
This class is open to all and is especially appropriate for international believers (upper undergraduate or graduate students, professionals, and others). For admission, applicants should write a one-page testimony of their coming to Christ and provide a short letter of recommendation from their church pastors or ministry leaders (see attached application).
