A Groundbreaking, Homecoming Celebration!

Get ready to Dig In!

Nearly 15 years ago, a handful of people stepped out in faith and launched a new church in the New River Valley called Northstar Church. In 2014, we finally found land and bought 10 acres on Prices Fork Road. Less than a year later, we celebrated as it was paid off. Then in October 2015, we kicked off the Immeasurably More campaign with a goal of raising $6 million for the construction of our first ministry center!

A big Sunday: August 19

Sunday, August 19 will mark an amazing moment in the life of Northstar Church when we will celebrate a Groundbreaking for the ministry center that will allow us to be the church in new ways! Since it is also our 15th anniversary, we hope Northstar alumni will join us for a special Homecoming.

Our initial three-year Immeasurably More campaign concludes this October. Our construction is estimated to take 14-16 months. Our vision is to move into our ministry center debt-free! So we will relaunch our Immeasurably More campaign for new and existing members (as well as alumni and friends) for another 18 months as we Dig In together in faith and prayer.

If you are a current member or attender of Northstar, we hope you’ll plan to join us as we take our next momentous steps together as a church family. If you are one of the many alumni who have come and gone throughout the years, we hope you’ll plan to join us to help us look back at our 15-year history, moving from a church plant to planting a church, to ministering to the NRV and the world.

If you are a friend or church/ministry partner in the area, we hope you’ll plan to join us so that we may thank you for all the ways that you have supported our ministry and join in our excitement as we prepare to move into a new ministry center that we pray will be used to bless the community as a whole.

An outdoor service on the land!

August 19 will truly be a day of celebration! The service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Northstar’s property, but you will want to arrive early and park at Blacksburg Middle School and catch the shuttle that will bring you to the property. After the service, we will enjoy lunch together at the Middle School.
