Easter Bags for the NRV

March 28, 2020

Everything has been so crazy with COVID-19. We’ve been looking for something fun and creative to serve our community since we can’t gather and have a community Easter Egg Hunt.

Bags of Joy are back for Easter!

This Easter we want to bring a little joy to foster children and the elderly throughout Montgomery County. Our goal is to pack 100 Easter bags with items that young and old may enjoy receiving for Easter.

Our bags JUST CAME IN FRIDAY, sooo…. we’ve got to have a quick turnaround for this! The goal is to get them filled by Monday, April 27 and then delivered to foster families before the end of April.

The details

Please keep in mind that some children may have allergies or diabetes so while candy is a great thing to pack, you may want to keep that minimal and nut free. You can always order your items from Wal-Mart or Kroger and pick them up so that you are not out in stores. Here are some ideas:

For Kids:
  • Amazon gift card (foster parents can purchase what they need)
  • The story of Easter in some form
  • Crayons, markers, coloring books
  • Small toys
For Elderly:
  • Paper Towels, Toilet Paper
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Kitchen Trash Bags
  • Deodorant, Soap, Shampoo, Lotion
  • Socks
  • T-shirts
  • Soft Blankets
  • Toothpaste, Toothbrush
  • Tissues
  • Bladder Leakage Pads
  • Laundry Detergent

You can pick up bags at the ministry center (200 Country Club Dr. Suite D1) Monday-Friday 9am-3pm. If you would rather have a bag delivered please email Julie@northstarfamily.org. Please return bags by Monday April 27 or email Julie for a pick up time.
