Ministries

We have a lot of ministry teams at Northstar and they are all about using the talents God has given you. Listed below are some of the ministry teams that Northstar has. We would love for you to become more involved. If you are interested, please email the team leader listed under each team.

Children’s Ministry Team
The Northstar Children’s Celebration Ministry offers Sunday morning activities consisting of Jumpstart for elementary children and First Impressions for preschoolers. Northstar also provides a clean, secure nursery. All Sunday children’s programs begin at 9:50 AM.

Youth Ministry Team
Our young youth ministry has been led by dedicated volunteers, who have a passion to see spiritual transformation occur and continue throughout the lives of our middle and high school students.  They meet from 7-9pm at the Lancaster House on Wednesday evenings.

College
The college ministry is geared for anyone who is in…or dropped out of college. Anyone that is of college age is invited.

Connections Team
The Connections Team trains, directs and organizes volunteers to plug into ministry and service at Northstar. It involves opportunities from greeting people who are arriving for worship services on Sunday mornings to helping plan social events and community service.

Small Groups
Small Groups at Northstar are informal gatherings that meet in the homes of members at various times during the week. They usually involve a meal or dessert, a time of Bible study and a time of prayer. Small Groups are Northstar’s primary way for people to connect with friends, build lasting relationships and grow in their relationship with Christ.

Hospitality Team
The Northstar Hospitality Team prepares refreshments, including doughnuts, coffee, juice and milk every Sunday morning in advance of worship services. In addition, the team also plans and coordinates all lunches and dinners at Northstar.

Tech Crew
The work of coordinating the activities in the auditorium on Sunday mornings goes to the Producer/Director. Those activities include the set-up of sound, video and lighting equipment, as well as the direction of activities on stage.
Includes the Audio/Visual team which handles the work of providing sound for the band, vocalists, and pastor on Sunday morning. The team also provides video for the auditorium using Pro Presenter.

Women’s Ministry
Northstar’s Women’s Ministry plans and directs activities and events for women, usually on a monthly basis.
Team Leader: LaRae Davenport

Admin Team
This team is one of our primary leadership team that assists the pastor and church staff in guiding and shepherding the church. Team members consist of Shane Carver, Darrel Cook, Jim Rancourt,  John Shockley, Chris Carr, and David Vancovern.

Worship
The Northstar Worship Team is made of up of both vocalists and a band. The Worship Team also develops a number of special musical services throughout the year. Northstar’s musical style is contemporary/modern worship. If you play an instrument or sing and have more questions about getting involved please contact Cody.
