Northstar Church: May, 2011
Three Signs of Man-Centeredness
The Jews of the 1st century demanded a sign from Jesus, and in this passage, Jesus exposes their shallow thinking as well as their external religiosity. How can we avoid the same mindset of faithlessness?

Three Houses
VT Baptist Collegiate Ministry director Darrell Cook preaches from Luke 11:14-28. Crowds accuse Jesus of using the power of the devil to accomplish the works He’s done. Jesus refutes them in a response about three houses. How do we hinder or advance the work of God in our life?

Feedback needed for summer groups
We’re lining up the schedule and are excited about the focus of this summer’s men’s and women’s groups! Real quick, can you go to this survey and give us some feedback on:
- 1. Whether you prefer men’s/women’s groups to be on the same night or different nights… (childcare will be impacted)
- What nights of the week are best for you
Thanks!

Who’s My Neighbor?
The seemingly benign moral lesson of the parable of the Good Samaritan is much harder to apply to our lives than what we think. This sermon examines the need for balance between devotion and service.

Baptism services scheduled for May 8 & 15

What a continued joy it is to celebrate new life and obedience! We will be having a baptism service the next two weeks, between the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. services.
While we already have some candidates for baptism, if you or a family member are interested in being baptized this week, please contact us. We’d love to be able to celebrate with you as you follow Jesus Christ in obedience.
It’s always a joyful occasion when we baptize people as they express their obedience and devotion to Jesus being the Lord of their life! Make sure to prioritize this special service on your calendar so we can exalt Him together and encourage those being baptized.
